Carryall holes......

Makes a change for me to be asking questions about a Carryall, but my WC 36 4 x 2 1/2 ton came with some strange holes in it (as opposed to the understandable ones put in it by high speed lead) The rear drivers side quarter panel has three 1" holes in an approximate triangle, spread round the curve of the panel midway between the bodyline and the lower edge. Each 1" external hole has a neat 3" hole through the inner panel behind it, and one is a bit more ragged where it has been tried twice. Ordinarily I'd just assume these were radio ariel bracket holes, but not only are they too far down on the panel and spread round the curve, but at 1" they are a bit too big (my WC 53 bracket is a monster and doesn't use above 3/8") They have no other associates holes either, for cables, wiring, or the like, and the truck was / is 6 volt so a radio is not really likely. Anyone have any guesses ?
