I'm have a 1976 3/4 ton 4-by with a 318/727 combo. I have puchased a 383/727 combo from a 1966 sport fury. what I need to know is on the 727 car tranny, does the tail shaft bolt pattern match the adapter plate bolt patern for the 318. If this is the same, can I rebuild the B/B 727 with the main shaft from the S/B. My truck has a married trasfer case with a NP203. Also have a 440/727 from a 1971 2-wheel drive pickup, this truck has headers, will they fit my 3/4 ton. I know this may be costly, but I am doing all the labor, except for the machine work. I love my truck and NEED more POWER. Any info is greatly appriciated.
