WC-52 is an open cab 3/4 ton Weapons Carrier with winch. The grille in front of the radiator should be flat. The 1/2 ton radiator guard (grille) is curved. I also don't think that they started producing the 3/4 ton until '42.
The bed is also completely different between the two. The 1/2 ton has motorcycle type fenders protruding conspicuously from the side of the bed, while the WC-52 has the bed covering the rear wheels like a modern pickup (except very squared off).
Perhaps a previous owner lacked a title and did the old switcheroo?
