The 340 SixPack is an internally balanced motor. Like the standard 340 4 BBL, same forged crank, rods, flywheel, etc. The 440 SixPack has heavy duty rods and needed to be externally balanced. It has the special Damper and weighted flywheel. As another note, 340 cranks are on the weak side for extreme use, I have broken many of them. They crack at the front or rear crank throw, where the lightening hole is. The best thing to do is find the Truck 318-3 crank, it is premium forged and flame hardened. Rebalance to work with 340 rod assy. I never broke this one, I have four 340's with this combo.
