had my command car NOS gas tank renewed. some might think it extreme, but a nos tanks for command cars are rare. it cost $325 for the renew process. i had my fill and gas cap sealed as well. the nj branch of renew knew what my tank was when i brought it in. the owner had done one before. you can not see the hole cut into the top & i am very pleased with the result and the lifetime warranty. for an m-37 you can get nos tanks that were used on some type of trailer mounted generator. they cost about 275. if your tank is not too bad, id have it renewed and never worry about rust again. you can paint over the coating that they apply. hope this helps
