Some people like Chevy's because they ride smoother, others hate 'em for that reason. Some people hate Ford for whatever reason, others hate Dodge because their transmission went out 5 times in 60,000 miles...it goes on and on.

Some people are partially justified in disliking certain brands, based upon their experiences. Every brand has made plenty of lemons and every brand has made plenty of excellent vehicles. I don't believe any one brand has a monopoly on good or bad ones. If you really want to get a good idea about vehicle quality, take a look at Consumer Reports. (I know, some folks will try to convince me that this publication is biased....but it's probably less biased and certainly more detailed and more comprehensive than the answers you'd get by asking Bubba and Earl down at the bowling alley.)

On the other hand, some people look for reasons to dislike brand-x vehicles. I've known people who have bought or driven brands that they don't really like, due to circumstances of their situation, and then they looked for reasons to dislike that vehicle. These circumstances included nagging spouse who wanted them to buy the brand-x vehicle, lack of time and money to buy a good condition vehicle of the preferred brand, boss who required the person to drive the company vehicle, which was a brand-x, etc.

And then there are those folks who are just born with blinders on, or maybe, "it was good enough for grampa, and it's good enough for me..."

You're right, there's no bias on this forum, eh?

Matt
