One thing I might tell you..I was talking to Piers, the owner of PDR about the three diesels a few weeks back. I don't think you could talk to anyone that's better respected in the Diesel game. He is a Cummins man but hates Dodge, in fact, he has installed a Cummins in a Ford! Never minding any of that nonesense, I was asking him about the GM Isuzu. Here's his Quote, "Those things Piss me off" why Piers..junk? "Junk...hell no, bring me one at 8AM & for under $1000 I'll send you home with over 400hp & close to 1000lbs of torque! I can't make any money on them!"
He claims that by adding a chip & a little tuning that they are untouchable without spending large dough on the Ford or Cummins. He says the only trouble is that the Allison transmission can't handle the power...surprising to me.
He still says the best engine is the 96-98 12 valve Cummins.
