...You've got half of the story right, you couldn't put a wrecker body on a Dodge pick-up, but you could put one on a Dodge Cab/Chassis, it is rated 5 1/2 tons when the wrecker body is 8,000 lbs or less. That's why most wreckers are F550's, Dodge is screwing up by not recapturing the Medium Duty niche that they invented.
FYI, my comment about McDonalds was in reference to gm not ferd, ferd is not that good! And as far as cheap, nothing was cheaper than my ferd's. Now if you want a nice interior, my Ram SLT cab is second to none. Most real wreckers are the medium duty Freightliners, owned by Dodge and running the same 5.9 Cummins block that Dodge runs. dura-max?? You really want that Jap crap diesel? It is quiet, but no comparisom to the power output of the Cummins.
