I have an early spur gear tranny (with PTO)in my 48b1 and it sounds like a gear clanging inside. I want to remove it and install a spare I have, which is a later spur gear type.(straight drain) My question is will it fit right up to bell housing and clutch that I have installed for the early one? I also have a later (I think NP 420) with the curved handel PTO, but I believe the brake braket and clutch set up are different.now the DC part. Dave, I think that on the early one I have to check, It may be the main gear ratteling around, sounds the same in any gear. What internal parts(gears) are available if needed. Any tricks to rebuilding these or anything in particular I should watch for? I will be needeng a gasket set Would you e mail me what you have available for the early trannys, will need to place an order. John
