Is it not a good idea to replace those original pitted gears, bearings, loose tie rods, leaking seals, rotting tires, worn rings, worn oil pumps, clogged up radiaitors, cracked fan belts, dried up window seals and door gaskits, loose universals, leaking wheel and master cylinders, cracked brake flex lines, rusted frames, thin rusted & dented steel brake lines, sloppy dist shafts, leaking fuel pumps, bad hoses, coroded electrical conections, non working water and oil presure gauges, worn clutches, throw out bearings and presure plates, rusting unprotected sheet metal ect. What do you do about those trucks? After you fix all those things why not give it a new coat of paint so it can live another 50 years. Some of these truck are still clean and original but a lot of them need tons of work befor you can safely drive them around. Just another point of view. I like to drive to town or out in the boonies knowing it will get me back home again not wondering if the old parts are getting ready to fail after 50 years of dependable use. I know there are no new ones that you can go very many years with out fixing things on them let alone do what these trucks did during there last 50 years of use or abuse. Lets fix them and keep them running great! Mark H.
