Arthur, Nope, 93 is basically the same as a 91. Most of my bills are due to the fact that I needed more power. The manual transmission had a few more horsepower, but the stock 91 Cummins will not keep up to a 95 Powerstroke. Maybe the 6.9 International but not the 7.3.
I just got back from a 2000 mile drive to Billings, MT in the Ford(because the Dodge is MIA)...I'm not exagerating Arthur, I bet you couldn't catch me on a hill even if you were running lite & I had a flat fender on my trailer....I'll put money on it! The ford will pull 9000lbs at 80MPH up the biggest hill between Canada & Montana. If the 93 will do the same when the transmission is done I will once again be a very happy Dodge owner.
The cummins is a great engine but I am still unsure whether the first series Cummins can ever be a match for a Powerstroke. I will be thrilled to be proven wrong...I wouldn't have invested $10,000 in modifications to the Cummins if I didn't really want to be proven wrong. The most power I have ever heard of in a first series Cummins is just over 300hp. I don't believe you could use over 250 without melting the engine if you're towing.
