It should go...the only problem I have found is the earlier W200's use the large driveshaft yokes and the 727's use a smaller yoke, so the short driveshaft between the tranny and the transfer is going to have to modified to accept the right yokes. The Townie's might be different?? not sure on those.
Now the crossmember(s) are going to have to be modified as well, the 4-speed bell crossmember will have to cut out or dropped down to clear the 727 pan. Then a new crossmember will have to be installed for the 727 further back and a new bracket will have to be fabricated for the transfer shifter levers.
Give me a call on Mon. or Tues. night's after 5:00 pm I'm usually out in the garage working on something.
