I have seen some of those plugs/fixes too! Sometimes you have to do what ya gots to do. A lot of old timers have babied rigs for many a mile and years. My manifold busted tring to remove the bolts holding them together and I just bought another exsaust haft and fixed it for around 75.00 NOS. I nad a Rod Bearing turned in a old slant 6 dodge by a old timer. He did the crank while it was still in the engine. Used a electric motor to turn the back wheel which turned the crank around. This electric motor bolted on the bottom of the block ground the rod journel. He go me back on the road for around 50.00 including parts. I did the labor since I had no money to speak of and was stranded in Northern Calif. Try and find some one other than a old timer, who had fun useing his old equipment to help a guy out. Mark H.
