Auto in the Townie?

I just pulled the engine and transmission out of the '63 Townie this afternoon, and got thinking about putting an automatic in, instead of the NP. The engine is a 318 LA.

Has anyone done this to their Townie? I know nothing about Dodge auto transmissions.
