Hi,

I've got a '78 440 powered Trailduster with Air. This truck has Tri Y headers but is otherwise stock. The heat under the hood is unbelieveable, you simply cannot touch underhood metal on a hot day upon shutdown. I use a rag on the dipstick handle to check the oil, it's that hot!

I always figured my truck was hot under the hood due to the headers. Previous owner said he put the headers on to make it run cooler than the manifolds. My AC is non-functional now since the compressor locked up...

Mine is not too bad inside, but on a long trip in 95+ temps, it gets pretty hot. Check your heater control valve like Todd says.
