the 3302's are good heads for either 318's or 360's because of port design but bigger valves and a big carb are NOT an asset on these kinds of applications. What makes these dual purpose is the changed runner designs. The long-held theory is that "Small Ports Make Torque". Accordingly, The small ports and small carbs work fine for heavy trucks. I had a 318 with the carter TQ on the later manifold and took it off as all it did was make cool sounds while sucking huge amounts of gas. Performance was virtually unchanged. 300FP of torque @ 4,400 RPM is of little use to us. vs. 300 FP @2400 RPM is.
