One of my neighbors around the mile had troubles with a calving cow one day. The man was gone and that left his wife and two daughters. The wife is a hard working, no nonsense woman, and has done all the farm work along side the men when needed.
The struggle ensued, she summoned the two girls to help, and they did get it done. (I learned all this later...)
When it was over they were an awful mess, and the two girls vowed to never have babies.
