don't know about speakers but have a great radio mounting idea. remember the little ford maverick? it had a parcel tray to the right of the steering column and if you got the radio option it was mounted in a nice chrome bezel that screwed to the top of the dash and the bottom of the parcel tray. sort of vintage looking even when the car was new. now to find a maverick! maybe a early pinto has the same setup?
