Is there anyone on this forum with first hand experience installing the newer 24V electronic diesels in our old trucks?
I don't need any advice from the guys that have "heard" that it's not easy, or they "think" that the job might be too big...I need first hand knowledge here.
I called Cummins & the way they describe it it just sounds easy to install & they had no reason to lie because I told them that I was buying the engine off the Internet & not from them. Apparently the only difficulty is that there is no longer any throttle linkage, you need a Mopar gas pedal that is electronic & is actually a potentiometer...like a rheostat & controls the engine electronically.
Why you ask?
Because I can get 550lbs of torque & 305hp, 6 speed overdrive transmission with a full Warranty & it's quiet!
Expensive you say?
Expensive is relative...go look at the price of the new trucks! Once this project was finished I'd expect this to be an awfully cool W300!
Any Advice on this project would be greatly appreciated.
