Mark,
I've followed the way that you've set-up your truck. This is how I set mine up experimenting with fuel & timing to get the best power out of it. Up here we can get 94 octane fuel & I can advance the timing way beyond the recomended & get tons more power, but my emissions go through the roof & so does the engine heat. You'll find if you're not happy with the heat, retard the timing back & it will drop way down, but so will your power. If it's not boiling, don't worry about it.
Most people think a cool running engine is good, but a cool running engine is not good & that's why they invented thermostats. If you ever take a valve cover off an engine & it's filthy inside even though you've done regular oil changes, try a hotter thermostat.
That's my advice!
