Sorry but I just don't get the reasoning of using anti-sieze when installing the new tube
as it would soon be washed off and contaminate the coolant once the heated coolant began to wash over it.
As for the reason for the tube, it was a necesity due to the engine design which did not allow the adequite flow of coolant to critical areas with out the holes in the tube
to divert it to these areas. This design,although a poor way to accomplish its purpose,did save much due to simpler casting.
