I've had to argue with the manager twice to get them to honor their guarantee. First a tap wrench stripped out and the clerk tried to tell me it wasn't a "hand tool". Then their top-of-the-line 3/8" ratchet stripped out and they showed me a drawer full of "rebuilt" ratchets and said I could take my choice, none of which was the top-of-the-line model. That manager flat-out told me that they weren't replacing broken tools with new tools anymore if they had a "rebuilt" one available. After some discussion, he did give me a new one of the same type, but all this has kind of soured me on "Craftsman". If I want cheap I'll go Harbor Freight and if I want good I'll go Proto or Snap-on, and they never hassle you over the guarantee.
