Powder coating is about 10 times more durable than Emron, which is about the toughest paint I know of. Powder coat is more resistant to heat than any conventional paints. The drawback is that the parts or in this case the engine has to be really clean prior to application. This usally means sand blasting. Which in turn means major cleaning after getting the block and heads back. I was considering doing powder on my frame. One really great use of powder is breaking down leaf springs and doing each leaf spring. When you put them all back together you end up with a really nice ride due to the decrease in friction between the leafs.
