Mount the tank & pump on the truck then consider:
-Moving the gas tank, keep it up up up and away from groundfire.
- Installing a fuel line shut-off valve in the cab for QUICK access, immediate disconnect.
- Installing a hydraulic MICO brake lock system to hold the truck while on an incline
- Insulating (fire retardant) the cab floor
- Use a two way high velocity pump to be able to draw water from a pond (burried tank) or creek and dispense water.
- Install a push bumper on the front, strong enough to knock over fenceposts and small trees without damaging the stock bumper or drivetrain.
- Discuss your plans with a FD to understand what their requiremnts are, and meet them.
Getting away from a fire quickly can be as important as getting to one. I'm thinking having a drawbar and a rake on the back of a PW would be very helpfull to quickly create a fire-break. Always have a working radio, paint your call sign on the cab roof (ONE-WILLY?) :)
