I live in a jack-pine forest area in northern Michigan which is very fire prone. My old truck hobby has a definite fire fighting component to it for self protection from these fires.

I have an M38A1 converted by the DNR for brush fire duty complete with its 50 gal water tank and pump. There is an old trailer mounted Hale pump unit (500 gal/min) powered by a 230 ci Chrysler flat head (can you say Power Wagon Engine?). Finally the W500 was a brush truck with a 300 gal tank, Bean piston pump, Wisconsin engine and rear mounted V-plow for creating fire breaks.

The only item yet missing for the W500 is the V-plow and I have two extra fire beds for it to use as spare parts. Don't remember how many Bean pumps there are around now, I think at least eight, along with five extra Wisconsin motors and a couple of extra 12v hose reels. Now I just have to work on making everything operational at a moments notice.
