i am in the process of installing a 78 dodge 360 lrt engine in my m37. a great engine in a great truck. i made the engine more fitting to the simple design of the m37 by adding a edelbrock carb with electric choke, pertronix, and one wire alternator conversion. 489s, disc brakes, power steering,on board air compressor and convertible top make it more drivable and useful as a weekend work truck. the box is a little short, but you cant have it all. i dont much care for the lrt compared to the flat fenders, but it is an interesting example of what went on during the 70s. lots of cheesy plastic, horrible styling and struggle to adapt to a pollution friendly world. i personally loved the jeep grand wagoneer (another 70-80s holdout) but hated what they did to it to keep it on the road- air pumps, non adjustable carb, etc. sometime later in life, id love to restore one with dead simple old iron tech and minor modern improvements to make it drivable. it had a great driveline stock from the factory and was the right size for a suv. my .02
