Run the CB ground wire directly to the Battery Ground terminal. Make sure the hood is bonded to the frame, body bonded to the frame. Battery Ground connection to frame is bright and shinny and tight. Is it Ignition noise, popping frying sound steady in frequency ? Or is it a wine type noise that varies in frequency as the engine speed (rpm's) are varried ? In all cases the bonding and bat ground is criticle. For ignition noise, a good quality resistor plug wire will help. The condensor on the bat terminal will help with wine.

I am running VHF FM in my PW, 318 engine with high quality resistor plug wires, no noise at all. But FM differs greatly from CB/AM.
