i had a holly carb catch my engine on my W200 on fire, bad too. they're too vague in adjustment(the ones i've used) and dump TONS of fuel. or they can also shoot a geyser of fuel out the top of the carb. that hits a spark and you're dead, i know! i've rebuilt lots of carbs too. never had a problem like that until the hollies. i have a 600cfm edelbrock performer on my '58 W200 and love it(polysphere 318 engine) and i run a carter AFB competiton series on my '85 ram, both have been excellent carbs, and have NEVER given me trouble before or after a rebuild. don't waste a dime on a holly. my 2 cents.
