but you need to find an "old timer"
might check with machine shops in your area
for old timer references
when engine rebuilding was common some shops
had to factor a 1 in 10 major problem in their prices
1 out of 30 would have a part failure
1 out of 30 would have a not put together correctly problem
1 out of 30 would have an owner abuse problem
was pretty close
my late friend Hal Baud (in the late 60's and early 70's) would just triple his price on Ferrari engine rebuilds to take care of customer complaints
