My company, Inter Agency Motor Pool, (www.M35products.com) concentrates on after-market enhancements for the 2.5-ton military trucks.
Contrary to what some dealers advertise, I have an "exclusive" to sell the Selectro brand model 11167-01-M lockout hubs for the M35 type truck. I paid for the tooling and design work, I put a few thousand bucks out there to fine-tune them, and I spent big bucks promoting them in a market where there was no other similiar product.
The manufacturer told me that if I ordered 50 pairs at a time, I would have an exclusive right to the product. I bought 50 pairs at around $400 per pair.
The manufacturer then "rewarded" me by selling them to any-old-body who asked for them, albeit at a slightly higher price than they sell to me.
So much for my "exclusive", but that's life when you deal with businessmen who wouldn't know the difference between an agreement and a Buick.
Occasionally, when I sense that someone with a different truck needs to know about hubs, I butt in. My reason for reading this list is to learn about PW's, of one of which I am the proud owner. (1956 cab and chassis, plus all the parts to make a bed.) I try not to mix bidness with pleasure, so I don't actively try to sell here. I just mention that I sell hubs, if someone needs them.
I was actually amazed that so many people jumped all over Mark when he very kindly (and cheaply) offered to make headliner kits. What a bunch of whiners! "The price is too high...They are not original...Somebody else sells better ones" etc. My advice to those who choose price over other values is: try making it yourself.
