Mike:

The truck is basically a bone stock civillian unit converted to military use. In Civilian terminology, the truck would be a 3/4 ton, BUT in Military terms, it is rated as a 1 1/4 ton, or 5/4 ton. So, technically, he was kinda right when he said 1 1/4 ton. That is Military rating. THe Military also rated the CUCV at a 1 1/4 ton rating for pickups and 3/4 ton for the Blazers. The CUCV Pickup is actually a Chevy K-30 pickup (1 ton Civi rating), But the military rated at at 5/4 ton. The CUCV BLazer with is a civi K-5 series 1/2 ton was rated by military to be a 3/4 ton. Are you confused yet? HOpe this helps.
