i believe all the mounting holes for 4x4 and 4x2 parts are factory drilled into the same frame,i've been toying with the idea for a few years now, so i've checked out the frames and setup. the '85 4x2 is VERY similar to the 4x4 including gas tank location. i believe the biggest pain would be swapping the engine cradle, the rest MIGHT be able to just bolt up, not the driveline though. thats what i've learned, i could be wrong though! so a more informed opinion would be helpful! thanks, Jason
