Our '96 T&C suffered from the same thing just a few months ago. The whole car would shake terribly on acceleration. We replaced the motor mounts (helped and we were about to do a tranny rebuild when our mechanic (good guy) suggested checking the half shafts. Right one was toast. We replaced both shafts, smooth as silk again.

This has been a GREAT van. My wife’s driving style is digital, she either has the gas pedal to the floor or the brake pedal to the floor; there is NO in between. I end up changing the front brakes a lot because of this. We (she) now has over 120K on it and still drives like a dream and NO tranny problems...so far...<knocking on wood>.

Hope this helps.
