Brake adjustment question

I had the master cylinder on my 65 WM300 replaced. The brakes were also adjusted. The mechanic is an ex military guy who worked on M-37s so he knows the equipment.

The brake pedal is a bit mushy at the top of the stroke but then firms up properly towards the bottom. It has a vacuum booster and the brakes actually work pretty well.

But the low position of the pedal bothers me. Is there an adjustment on the rod that comes out of the master cylinder that can be adjusted to raise the pedal?

Should this be adjusted, or should I just live with low pedal? By the way, the mechanic also said the bushing on the brake pedal was shot, but the pedal was not this low before the master cylinder was changed and I am sure the bushing was just as bad.
