A few weeks ago I posted a message about the replacing the carb on my 59 W200. Eric B was kind enough to inform me that I had a Stromberg WW. My current carb needed a lot of help-especially the throttle shaft bushing (really sloppy). This was what caused it to stall at idle sometimes.

I searched and searched and finally found a refurbisher in California that had a Stromberg WW just like mine that was completely refurbished. I bought it and received it a couple of weeks ago.

The carb of course looks brand new, however looks are not everything. I took the old one off, swapped some linkage that was different, and put it on. Then came the test...I bumped the starter on Old Blue and as soon as the carb had gas it fired up and purred like a kitten. I was really happy with the quality of the carburetor and very impressed that I did not have to make any adjustments. It runs and idles perfectly with no adjustment.

I hear so many stories about problems and poor quality that I wanted to relate a "happy ending" story. I would recommend ecarburetors.net to anyone.
