350 Chevy, Sorry, The flathead chucked a rod in 1972, I had a 283 laying around and put that in for the next 29 years. As the 283 became tired, I opted to replace it with a 350 ( the 283 seemed to have less torque than the flatheat 6) I was too lazy to swith the mounts and transmission back to Dodge. If I had to do it again, I'd use a 503 hemi. Alan
