I read Jack Cains post that brought this truck ad to our attention and with just basic reading skills, I was able to clearly comprehend the meaning and intent of his wording and pictures. Referring to his wording and pictures as an attempt to "bait & switch" is,on the verge of slanderous malice. I believe you simply read more into the ad than was there.
My comprehension of what was said is, He has a 1948 Dodge PU in rough condition with all the short-comings listed. As for the pictures, he plainly states that the 48 is a 5 window (and basically that the truck pictured is as close a picture he had) to show what the 48 could look like with patience and work. The price sounds high to me but has anyone actually seen the truck for sale? I can't believe people bid so high with such a description and sight unseen but, in no way do I find deception in anything he posted. He is correct, it is not his place to make sure everyone reading his ad comprehends what their reading. I also understand how someone not paying attention to what their reading could believe they are buying the truck pictured.
