Recorseal #15 is ok for fuel however I agree that you shouldn't need it. There is something wrong with the flare seal to allow it to leak. The teflon tape is probably a bad idea although it can work if you do a nice neat job. Maybe better not to use it. Sorry for the unthoughtful advice. Take a good look and find out why it's leaking.
