I've been a military aircraft enthusiast about as long as I've been a car/truck nut. It seems as though the armed forces have been trying to phase out the A-10 for quite some time now! Too slow, too ugly, too much like a plain ol' truck, and not like the sleek, super-complex, costly, ultra-high-powered fighter jets of today! But the A-10 is a tough, deadly, hell-breathing "workhorse" that won't quit, and it's cherished by all of those pilots that I've talked with! It's an old design, by today's standards, and I was delighted to see them still in action in Iraq! Joe's posting sort of "rang a bell" of the same tone as that associated with the Power Wagon, and it seemed very fitting to be included in this Forum. Dave Maher
