The 6x6 transfer case has a 1.5 to 1 low range instead of the 1.96 to 1 of the POWER WAGON transfer case.

Using the 6x6 transfer case gives you 8 forward drive ratios. You have only 6 forward drive ratios with the 1.96 transfer case. In low range, the 1.96 transfer case with the transmission in 2d gear is almost the same as high range and transmission in 1st gear. This means that low/low and high/high are the only gear ratios that do not overlap

But low range in first gear is 33% lower overall with the 1.96 transfer case if the lower gearing is needed.
