David's narrative reminds me of my first real (go to work at 6AM, punch a clock, go home at 4:30PM) job right out of high school. I went into the local REA Co-op, and asked for a job. The GF asked if I could drive a truck. A brash 17 year old, I replied: "Mr Vick, if it has a wheel, I can drive it." He says to show up at 6 Monday morning. On Monday when I presented my overstuffed self to the boss, he told one of the men to show me my truck, and said I should follow the rest of the crew out to the job. The guy took me out to a military GMC 6x6, with tires about four feet tall, three winches, front, rear, and behind the cab, a Highway digger unit, and a collapsible A-frame. It had a canvas top, and when I opened the door, the floor looked to me like a forest there were so many sticks and levers. My ego deflated in a hurry; but I did learn how to drive it, and fix it when I broke it. The point of all this though is that if I had been intent on stealing something, that truck oranything even remotely similar would not have been my choice; I would have opted for something more civilized. I don't think I'd worry about the average PW or M37 being taken by an ordinary thief; they are too lazy and lacking in sense. Drive on!
