Steve was referring to the sucky little 230L-head in the earlier WM300's.Get a 60's model with the 251L-head w/115-125hp,add a dual carb intake manifold and you should have enough power to pull a 10,000lb trailer at 45-50mph on level ground. It would help if your trailer is a 5th wheel type (or gooseneck). And by all means, get the disc brake conversion done at least on the front,(w/your load I'd get all 4 done!)Hopefully that size trailer has a aux. brake sys. of it's own(elect.or hyd.)If you can find a WM w/a 265L-head (a 251-block w/a longer stroke crank which has more torque)you might do better. There are several performance tricks and mod. to assist the engine to perform at its peak. You may need to keep the 5.83 gears, you'll need it more than speed.Goodluck
