The fuel tank sender someone just posted below, stating a VW unit bolted right in, Hmmmmmnn Don't know what type, maybe search below. I personally try to avoid rebuilding military guages (or any for that matter) it's a pain, and frequently especially military 50's guages contained RADIUM on the dials to make them glow. My brothers a Safety guy for the Army, checked my Cmd Car guages out and they were HOT with radiation. Not enough to hurt as long as I don't live in the vehicle, but I'm never to disssemble them (and I'll bury them in deep trash when I do replace em.
Be careful. Vintage likely sells what you need, or check out the HotRod (custom cars like lead sleds, not the racing stuff) magazines, they have some great sources for guages, even repro /retro look stuff.
