Two weeks ago I trailered a M37, which had a GVW of 5719 lbs listed on the id plate. It was a 700 mile trip one way, of which about 200 miles was up and down the mountains of VA and West VA. I used a Chevy exended cab 1/2 ton with the 350 Vortec engine. The trailer was a Demco aluminum, twin axle, surge brake equipted, tilt bed trailer with a 7500 lb capacity. I was very careful in getting the tongue weight right, I chained and strapped down the truck well. The thing tracked and trailed perfectly, that weekend we encountered snow, ice and extremely high winds. I was able to run 65-70 mph with no problem, of course up the mountains I wasn't able to maintain this speed. On some of the 7-8% grades of 5-10 mile length I was doing 35 mph at the top. To make a long story short(to late I guess), a full size truck with the proper trailer with good brakes, no problem.
