: : The exhaust valve on No. 5 cylinder has stuck open a couple of times on my 251. Before I have to go thruogh the time of removing the head, and everything else in the way, again, does anyone have a way to remedy valves sticking? I've been told to try adding Marvel Mystery oil to the gas. Has anyone sucessfully fixed a sticking valve problem? What causes valves to stick in the first place, moisture?
: : Thanks, Joe
: :have you tried to pull some wather dowv your carburator with the engine is haveing a lot of rev.?CA.2500-3000rpm.

Marval in the gas or two cycle oil once in a while is always good for these old beasts. Water down the carb while running, and I mean lots a water will decarbon, don't let it stall. I would try motor oil down the carb with it running at high r's,and just about when the neighbors are ready to call the fire dept. let it stall. Let it set for couple days then try it.The two cycle once in awhile gives you upper cylnder lube. If you have to get more drastic than that there are more things you can do to avoid useing wrenches. Oh, don't sell your tools yet.
