I have a 1947 WDX I just restored with a new engine. Drove it to the Power Wagon rally last week. Covered about 1100 miles and got an average of 10 mpg. Was told this is very good. My front wheel drive was completely disconnected. Did not have a drive shaft or the axles. Not sure you would get much better mileage with locking hubs. George
: I have a 1977 Powerwagon all-time 4x4 club-cab with a 400 V-8 big block. If I made the conversion to locking hubs would i get better gas mileage. I heard it gets about 9 miles to the gallon now , what does anybody think it will get? Does ANYBODY HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS IF SO PLEASE WRITE BACK.
