Besides a top end of around 60mph, I've been told by a mechanic that the flat 6 wasn't a great engine, that the main bearings had a tendency to wear out at 50,000 miles. However, he did say that with the modern oils the bearings might last longer. Any confirmation or denial of this? Also, what kind of gas mileage did (does) a stock M-37 get? Thanks.
