you'll need the right big block bellhousing. Not an easy find for most. I did

B.B. front motor brackets & mounts for the 61-67 truck.

If you go the auto route you need the same brackets and you also have to cut
the rear crossmember and add angles to go below the trans. Find a junk D-100/200
with an auto for reference. Also B.B.'s require a B.B. auto trans housing. LA's won't
work. Also you'll need the short tailshaft version of the 727. These can be found
in A-100 vans of the era. The needed rear section will interchange, you just have to
dissassemble the trans's to do it. You also have to get the right output yoke. Sometimes
hard. Enough! There is more...but these are the crit. parts.
