Use the 10S1 internal regulator alternator used since about 1973 or so on GM products. You may be able to reuse the original bracket on the motor with the addition of a long bolt and spacer. The one wire regulator kit is available from JC Whitney or most any auto electrical shop may have rebuilt alternators which have already been converted. If you don't mind running an extra wire or two, then you can use the alternator without the one wire conversion. I can't remember which wire on the side of the 10S1 needs a small resistor in the circuit. If you still have the wide fan belt then you will have to have a new pulley for the alternator. A local auto electric shop in my area had both the regulator and pulley.
