up here in The Great White North, we stand the block up so the piston top is sitting flat, then fill the cylinder above it with deisel fuel. let it sit a few days, then put an old rag into the fuel, refill the cylinder, and light it on fire. let the fuel burn down, and then drive the piston out of the warm block. the idea is to allow the block to heat up and let the fuel penetrate down the side as the heat expands it. make sure to keep enough fuel above the piston to keep it cooler than the block. ( note: this may work better up here due to the colder weather )
: : : There is 2 penetrating fluids that are of a much higher ability.
: : : One is called Kroil and the other is Break Free.

: : This is the second time this weekend that someone suggested Kroil as a product which can free stuck pistons. I have had no luck finding it locally, but their address is:

: : Kano Laboratories
: : 1000 S. Thompson Lane
: : Nashville, TN. 37211
: : (615) 833-4101

: Their web site is:

: : I understand that they also have a product designed precisely to free stuck pistons, Kroil being a general purpose penetrating oil.
